My 1st Easter Break @ Philip Island

*"This is going to be a long post. Haiz."

Easter Break? This is one of those I-Don't-Give-Damnn holiday to me back in Malaysia because it is not even a "break" in my country. But here in Australia, it really sounds like a Hari-Rayaish Holiday to the people here, and the good thing is that my mid semester break coincide with this big festival. So back to the very first question, what is Easter Break?

Easter Day as defined by some unknown resourse,
"Easter aka Easter Day is the day that marks the Resurrection of Jesus. Christians believe that Jesus resurrected on the third day after he died, hence they celebrate this resurrection day on Easter day aka Easter Sunday aka Resurrection Day aka Resurrection Sunday. Easter Sunday is two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday (duh... =.=")."

Easter Break as defined by ME,
"Easter Break, also refered to as Monash University Mid Semester Break is the week that marks Keat Ming's first holiday in Australia. It is said that he spent his first three days after the beginning of Easter Break at Philip Island and a day trip to the Great Ocean Road on the following Friday aka Great Friday, and lastly got drunk for the very first time on the next day aka Drunk Saturday."

I guess I should really stop crapping before you hit the red "X" button on the top right corner of your screen. Anyway, the above definition of Easter Break is actually a summary of what I have done throughout the entire mid semester break. So let's start with the Easter Camp @ Philip Island.

*On the way to our destination.

*Welcome to Phi... oops, not yet. Still on the way.

*Ok, here we are. Welcome to Philip Island =).

*Ok, a better photo to prove that it's really an island.

*This whole area is very isolated.

*The beach here is indeed very nice.

*Seaside. It's really a waste that I didn't have a good swim here due to the untolerable cold weather.

I joined a 3 days 2 nights Easter Camp organized by MUMSU (Monash University Malaysian Student Union) at Philip Island, which is extremely famous for it's Penguin =). During that 3 days camp, I spent my life in this room (they refered it to as Bunkhouse) which can easily fit in 12 peoples and you can still have plenty of comfortable spaces for a good sleep.

*See that bed below on the left. That's where I spent my 2 nights on this island.

*Out of 12 beds, there were only 7 of us in this bunkhouse. But it looked like as if there were more than 12 people.

Let me take you to a tour around the camp.

*Canteen.

*If you follow the concrete pavement on the left, it leads you to the male's toilet and bathroom.

*BBQ spot.

Ok, done with the camp tour. After everyone settled down into their respective bunkhouses, we were told to gather at the recreation room for a three hours of Ice Breaker Session (3 hours! Ice no need break also melted aledi LA). But that ice breaking session was really fun. Indeed MUMSU really did a great job on all the games that constantly kept us awake. Thank you very much =).

*Ice Breaker. This is where we were separated into teams and I was put to...

*Team 2 aka THE KILLERS.
Allow me to introduce my teammates: (From left) Calvin, Sharmani, Kuat Beng, Our Team Leader -> Mervin (guy in white), Jia Wen, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Alex and Ah bing on the left.

*After the ice-breaking session, is time to go for a walk at the beach.

*Seaside breeze.
*Us (Kha Liang, Me and Chi Hau) taken from uphill by Ah Bing.

*A jumping pose featuring Alan & Chi Hau.

*Meet the Treasurer of MUMSU, Jiun (and Nick Wong).

*I was over-bored and I took this picture.

*=).

*It looks like they were in some sort of desert place.

*And yet still enjoying so much.

*Weird but nice landscape.

*Chi Hau, Jason and Jiun.

*This photo took us centuries to pose because it's really very slippery and dangerous.

*Kha Liang's turn to be the cameraman.

Out of a sudden, a small scale tsunami striked onto the rock that we were standing and I quickly took out my camera and snapped down these pictures.

*Water rushed into the medium size crater like pond beneath us.

*It looks like a small waterfall.

*Sunset...

*... And is time to go back for dinner.

*Yet there are still two dudes who are so reluctant to go back, standing patiently waiting for a bigger wave to strike on to the rock again.

*But still, we made our way back to the camp eventually.

That night was indeed a boring night if there wasn't a ping pong table inside the recreation room. So basically I spent the whole night playing table tennis. To be exact, I spend most of the free time playing ping pong, till we successfully broke a ping pong ball on the second night. Initially the original plan was to hold a performance (a singing and performing competition among the teams) on the second night. However, it was then cancelled at last due to the station game and the penguin paradise visiting on the second day that put everyone into over-exhausted state. I was extremely relief when I know that the performance thingy is cancelled because I really can't imagine having 10 people singing "As Long as You Love Me".

*Another jumping pose.

*Group picture taken after the sand castle building session.

*Free and easy time and guess where I am? Ping pong again -_-"

*And Kha Liang were trying to swallow the whole cloud into his stomach.

There were not much photo taken (none at all) during the second day station game, but overall the game was very fun and well organized game. I really enjoyed it very much. Ok, upcoming next is the Penguin Paradise. Unfortunately, they don't allowed photo to be taken inside the park. We were kinda rush at the Penguin Paradise but at least I got a closer view to the cute penguin.

*The sign says: "Please proceed to the front for Penguin Meat and Souveniers. XD

Beginning of the Third day...

*Nice view. It looks like Aurora

*The "egg yolk" is slowly appearing!

*There you go, the Sunrise.

*And guess what, everyone were sleeping at this very moment.

*So who took all these pictures? Credits goes to our Jason.

*Such a nice Sunrise.

The third day is far most the most carefree day among the three days in Philip Island. Nothing much to be done besides playing "Bridge" with my Bunkhouse-mates.

*Playing Bridge.

*Last team photo before we head to Koala Conservation Centre and lastly head back to Clayton.

*My Cameo Appearance.

*Nice pose.

*Here we are at the Koala Conservation Centre.

*Introducing my long lost ex-primary classmate, Chu Hoe.

*Next, we got Seok Weay (left) and Cyndi, part of the Committee of MUMSU.

*Me and Alan with the Koala behind us. Can you see it?

*How about this? You see the Koala up on the tree?

*Eh... not this one... This is definitely not a koala (duh...)

*This is kangaroo la bugger.

*-_-"... oh my, does this even look like a koala to you?

*Ok, this is it. The Koala!

*Closer view of this must-see-creature when you come to Australia, otherwise you are not considered of being to Australia before.

*A group photo before leaving for Clayton.

*Looks like everyone are reluctant to leave.

*And more people coming into the photo.

That's all for the three days trip in Philip Island. And well, I did enjoy myself to the fullest. Especially at night when you can have a great view of a full moon together with loads of loads of stars, and if you were to blocked the moonlight from reaching your eyes for a couple of minutes, you are actually able to see even more tiny stars surrounding the bigger one and VOILA, the Milky Way is directly on top of your head by then.

P/S: To all Christian, I apologize for any inappropriate usage of words throughout the entire post (if there were any) that will give rise to any sensitive issue regarding to Christianity.

*Sign of the Day: "Do not masturbate on the edge of the fence. Thank you." XD
