Mec-chemi-tronics Food Trip 2 - Penang Paradise (1)

Finally got this trip posted up here... Been uploading photos non-stop for the pass few days... Another reason for this late posting were due to a mile food poisoning that will be explained later... Ok, here are the 2nd season of the Mec-chemi-tronics Food Trip...

*Previously on Mec-chemi-tronics Food Trip 1*
After the one day food trip leaded by Mr. Foo Jin Hang, Penangites and Ipohians are complaining about how terrible were KL foods, and hence a famous quoting has been spreading among the Engineering dudes : "UM DIM LO!" (Means not good literally, in cantonese).

As a "revenge", KLian decided to seek for the truth of what is the reason that makes our food so "UM DIM"....

Therefore, TADA!

There goes the Mec-chemi-tronics Food Trip 2 - Penang Paradise...

*Ok I know is lame =.=... Perhaps some photos to unfreeze you*

1st Day

Before we set sail to Penang, we first stopped at Ipoh to pick up our only Ipohian comrade, Chong Woi. But since we are here at Ipoh, it would be weird if we did not try the Ipoh Chicken Rice and Tauge. So that was our 1st meal and breakfast as well for this trip.

*Off we go

*1st stop, IPOH.

*1st Meal, Ipoh Tauge Ayam

*The very famous Tauge.

Apparently Chong Woi explained the reason behind why Ipoh Tauge so "fat" and tasty is because they receive our human contribution to Mother Nature, URINE. The farmers were to busy to go to toilet, so they just "did it" right on the spot. And here you have the extremely tasty and juicy Tauge =).

*Explanation above are purely imaginary story. Ipoh Tauges are definitely safe to be consumed*

* Main dish, Ipoh Famous Chicken

* Our breakfast.

*After our breakfast. No doubt, we were extremely starved before this meal.

After the breakfast, we went to purchase the Hiong Beng, which is also another Ipoh famous. On our way there, we found something that is so rare till i bet you will hardly find it in KL

*Old Bas Sekolah (Lame? Sorry, and I am trying to improve)

*Hiong Beng

*From their expression, you can conclude that ... We are still hungry =.=

Rumors say that Jason's mansion is superb luxury and nice. I am doubt about this fact until we reach his house right after our arrival in Penang.

*Gate (Amazed-o-meter rising to 50 degree Celsius)

*The Garden. I like that landscape very much

*This is the one.

*Side garden. Very China-ish and nice. Living here is like living in a 5 star resort. Comfortable.

*Another side of the mansion.

*You noticed that there is an opening to the neighbor's house? Yes, believe it as there is really no gate or what so ever between this two families. What a good neighborhood =). Totally a heaven and hell if compared to MY neighbor.

*When I see this, I am extremely happy. And playing table tennis is what we do almost everyday in Penang, except the last day.

So what do you think about this mansion? I don't know about you but if I were to rate them out of 10, this house definitely worth more than 9. Now, hold your breath as something even more amazing coming up. You think that the external design is perfect? Think again after these photos below:

*Their very own TATAMI entertainment room (I guess)

*Inside the Tatami

Besides the Tatami, every corner of the house give me a very China-ish feel. These are their unique yet simple interior design:

*Wall decoration of Chinese style map.

*Chinese characters design table in the living hall.

*Chinese characters again and if you can notice, there is a bamboo design above the chinese characters.

*Ceiling.

*And finally, the kitchen.

So the first day was roughly a very care free day. Some stick to their laptop and some started to dream about the food that they are going to eat in this trip, while I spend the entire afternoon with Alan and Chong Hong on Table Tennis.

*Master and apprentice playing table tennis.

His parent are so kind enough to prepare a welcome steamboat + BBQ dinner for us on that night. So we spent the whole night sitting outside the garden and basically that was how the 1st Day ended.

*Preparing for dinner.

*Still preparing

*Fishes inside the pond.

*No, those fishes in the previous picture were not served and in fact cannot be consumed. These foods on the hot round plate are definitely fresh from the market. No worries.

*Delicious isn't it?

*1st Day Garden Dinner.

*Special Thanks to Jason & Family.

...To Be Continued...
