Pity Medusa

For those who have yet to watch Percy Jackson & The Olympian The Lightning Thief and Clash of The Titans, I have a great suggestion if you do not want to watch it in the cinema. Download both movies and watch them with two screens at the same time. That might saves you a lot of time because both movies actually have an equal sign in between them XD. Perhaps a little summary for you to decide whether you agree with what I am about to tell you.

For those who are going to watch Clash of The Titans soon, you are strongly advised to leave this post as I am afraid that I might convinced you to tear off your ticket immediately after you read it XD. So, shall we begin?

*Percy Jackson & The Oly... Wait, isn't the title on that picture itself -__-"?

So, how should I start with this movie? Hmm... ok... Is something like this. Apparently the main character of this movie is a boy (Percy Jackson) whose father is the well known God of Sea, Poseidon while his mother is just a mortal... Therefore, this makes Percy a half god half human. Soooooo, the story begins with the lost of Zeus' favourite toy, his precious Thunder Bolt and rumors say that Percy is the one who stole it. So monsters like centaur starts to appear one after another, going after Percy and eventually his mother was brought to the hell by the centaur. Percy, together with Athena's daughter (another half god half human) and a half goat half man protector then set out a quest to the under world to rescue his mother.

*Read the title please!

Similarly, the hero of this movie is also a half god half human, under the name of Perseus, son of Zeus. The movie begins with a little history of how Zeus and his brother overthrown their father, The Titans and took over his place to be the King of God while Hades was unfortunately being tricked by his brother and sent to the under world. At the very beginning of the story, Perseus' human parent and sister were killed by Hades and Perseus was then brought to Argos. Here in this place, their princess is in a really deep shit because Hades will send his beloved child, the Kraken to destroy Argos, unless the king of Argos sacrifice his daughter for a trade off for his country. And so Perseus, who wanted to revenge for his family, promise to take up a quest to destroy Hades. However, before Hades can be killed, Kraken must be eliminated first.

So, have you noticed the similarity? Haha... if you didn't, allow me to pin point it out for you =). It is my pleasure.

1. If you noticed, both heros in these movies are going after Hades because their beloved family members were somehow brought away or killed. Their quest is like an Amazing-race-like adventure whereby they are going from one place to another just to take something or to get some clues. The only difference is the time setting, one is set in the modern era while the other one was way long long time ago.

2. Medusa's head is pathetically the greatest weapon of all in both movies. Percy and Perseus both chop off her head and treated it as a weapon to somehow destroyed gigantic monster (Hydra and Kraken) by turning them into rocks. Pity Medusa =(. But I was wondering, if both movies were to follow in chronological order, how does the snake-like Medusa in Clash of the Titans found her lost head and revive after several thousand years and turn into Lady-Gaga-like Medusa in Percy Jackson & The Olympian The Lightning Thief AND once again got her head chop off as a weapon? Hmm...

3. Both movies have given me a generalized idea that gods are actually quite enjoy coming down to earth and **** any lady and then disappear right after that, leaving a child with their mortal girlfriend.

Well, besides similarities, these two movies have given me quite a lot of interesting stories regarding to Greek Mythology. To start with something hilarious, Kraken is actually the son of Hades. 0_0... yes, that is how I interpret when Hades says "My son..." in Clash of the Titans. So I was thinking a prequel to the Clash of the Titans, which I named it Hades and The Octopus.

"Right after Hades was tricked by his brothers and was sent to the under world, he felt so disappointed and upset and he went to a beach to cry. Crying and crying, he was too tired and fell asleep on the beach. Then here comes a horny female octopus looking for someone to mate, spotted a naked Hades sleeping on the beach. So... (So, I shall let your imagination to finish my story). Therefore, here comes Kraken =)... And they live happily ever after. THE END"

Some other interesting stuffs from these movies include:

- Ever since young, I thought gods and angels are all naked, or at least with some clothes or leaf on their private parts. But after watching these two movies, I realize they actually do shopping quite often and keep themselves very updated with the latest fashion. Zeus and the rest of the gods actually wear armors at Olympus. And coming back to Percy Jackson's, you can see Medusa wearing shades and Poseidon with coat! Cool!!

- I have known that Medusa and Poseidon have "something" in between them when I watch Percy Jackson, but I didn't know Poseidon actually rape Medusa until I watch Clash of the Titans! Hmm.... So raping someone wasn't illegal at that time? That is seriously dangerous. And once again, pity Medusa.

SO, as a conclusion, Greek gods are 'Hamsap' and Medusa's head must be chopped off eventually. Thank you =)

P/S: The post above is purely based on personal opinion and no research has been conducted regarding to Greek Mythology before producing this post. Should there be any misinformation, feel free to comment, and I personally appreciate that very much =).
